Got my P80CL put together this evening. Glock 19 grip pattern with a G17 slide. Slide/barrel are Swenson. Apex trigger. I like the G19 size grip much more than the G17.

Building a pistol while watching Forgotton Weapons in the background?

    Will you be my friend?

    :P

Also that looks cool. I'm in to the "longslide" look and feel on pistols lately.

10-20 dollar wood burning tool, time, and patience is all that needed, I have two more to do that will be more detailed. I did some rough practicing on a broken p80 and for this type of texturing I did the borders spaced out, then the center, then just went crazy for all the inbetween. Is it perfect, no, am I happy for the 1st go, heck yeah. I am now ready to do my coyote one that will be a flag, my only worry is burning the lighter color.

    Looks great. g17?

Yeap, still some finishing touches to do, I’d like to get the outline more detailed and do a smaller outline on the thumb area. I would suggest to anyone getting into this to spend the extra on a wood burning tool that you can control the temp. Too hot, it burns, to cool, and it leaves strings.

It does not take a lot of time. It’s ridiculously easy.

That's exactly what's so dangerous about them.

I am not a Glock guy. I've never been a Glock guy. They're just not comfortable to me, and I've always shot and owned SIGs instead. But dammit if every time I look at these I don't get an itchy mouse finger to go start buying stuff. The longslide 19/17 hybrid ones are just the ticket for me, too.

What I really need to do is go build an 80% P320. If only the parts for the FCG for those things were more readily available.

I used to be you... and five years later, I now own five Glock-or-PF940 handguns, have a Maxim 9 on order, and have sold my P226R. Kind of an odd transformation for a guy who's been into hammer-fired metal frame guns, but it's just so much more convenient in training and competition (thus far!).

IMHO, the biggest problem with the PF940 frames is the holster situation, and even then, it's usually fixable, you just need to spend some more time and money.

You can narrow the sides of the frame a little with fine sandpaper until it fits a standard holster. That is one of the mods I did on my v1.5.
