I mean how can someone say 45/70 rifles aren’t among the sexiest?
I’ve had many through the years and right now this one is my main stay.

I mean just look at it! A ‘74 Shiloh Sharps is definitely one of my dream guns, but this little booger comes in at half the cost of that! I know there is quite a jump between handmade and assembly line, but this guy is really intriguing to me.

Having a pad, other than leather, kind of kills it for me. I would love to have one in .303 (but I can't see the front sight) as it has more historical hunting significance.

I’m happy that if they went the rubber route, they chose by that shade!

Oh they make a .303 as well. I just love 45/70

    Nice rifle ( the Courtney ) .

A custom rifle along those lines would be more historically correct , as the Ruger No 1 action is based upon the Farquasen ( sp) which would have been used back in the day in Africa and India .

But heck , the High Wall is overlapping time period , and the price is significantly more accessible .

Added - By no means dissing Lever action .45-70s , but they are a different thing than a fine Single .
