Please be careful when buying an M1 Garand for Pete's sake. The majority of the M1 Garands that you see at the gun shows have been cherry picked for parts and you are looking at the resulting rifle. Don't get me wrong its not 100% this way but it is a safe bet to count on it.
That is an excellent point. The sellers are either keeping the rifles they've made "correct" by swapping parts from the for sale rifles or asking exorbitant prices on those "correct" rifles. That's not to say the resulting rifles assembled from parts won't function or shoot well but they're an assembly of parts that probably was not function tested to make sure. The parts they are assembled from may range to excellent to out of spec.

Correct matching M1's
First time the Platoon of GI's are cleaning them they don't match.

If you qualify buy from CMP here:
https://thecmp.org/cmp_sales/eligibility-requirements/

Buy them here $750,$850 or $1080:
https://thecmp.org/sales-and-service/m1-garand/

Or drive to one of the three store an pick one!
https://thecmp.org/cmp_sales/cmp-stores/

Store stock can be found here:

A "correct matching" M1 Garand

"This M1 Garand is manufactured by Springfield Armory. Unissued since being manufactured with the original foil wrap on the front sight. Rifle was not disassembled for photos or for parts identification."

Still coated in cosmoline.

It'll go for $4K - $4.5K

I have a Correct SA. It was my number one shooter for years. Not for sale. All of mine are shooters. I probably should sell one, though, probably one of the HRAs.

Thanks for all the follow up! There were two at HOCO show today. One caught my attention, Remington, had a CMP cert. however, I was a little concerned about its condition for the price being asked. Hope I have a line on a nice rifle from a member here.

My first thought as well.

LOL, I assumed we had jumped topics and were now talking about CMP 1911s.
