I'm going through completed auctions to get ballpark figures for a rider on my homeowners and came across this particular Remington Model 33. Most others are going for $150-250 max, but this particular one is almost double the other highest sellers. It's the standard elevation-adjustable rear-semi-buckhorn sight, not the NRA peep that was rather rare. The SN isn't anything to write home about, and the overall condition is pretty good, but not excellent. I have one in my safe with way better wood and a fantastic patina with 90%+ intact bluing.

Bidding war? Or am I missing something here?

    They wanted it for Christmas?

I'd be willing to pay a premium for a C&R piece that the seller was willing to honor my C&R for (not all do) but nothing like double the price.
