    This "voluntary" registration scheme in MD involves only handguns. It is an openly acknowledged registration scheme.

    Rifles/shotguns, no. Yes, a Federal background check, which suspicious folks assume is being tracked and compiled, but which would be illegal.

    good point on handguns only, but the long guns not being traced or tracked is something of another discussion. :smoke:

    The reason there are so few guns in Maryland is because of the Chesapeake Bay. There are so many terrible boating accidents where all the guns are lost overboard.
