Maybe there should be a sticky to list these ridiculous thinking companies.
You can see how well the HQL law is working in Baltimore City, these signs are
just as ridiculous and if companies like this are going political, everyone needs
    to know.
    OP, thanks for the info.

I'm almost thinking we should do like a little MDS business card with "You lost business today" and the reason why on it, that members could leave at places like this. Just not sure if the asshats like from the other side would get hold of some and use them improperly to make us look bad. I dunno, I haven't even run the idea past anyone else, just thinking out loud.

    Something like this:

    http://www.ctrguns.com/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2011/08/no_guns_no_money.pdf

Maybe on the back have a nice statement out civil rights and self defense with url to msi or something.

I can work on this if you want.

Never have an issue with anyone packing, expect when the barrel is cantered towards me. Picking up my vehicle from body shop in Glen Burnie, sat next to a big (actually fat) man. When he got up his sweatshirt rode up and his friggin barrel was pointing directly at me.

To say the least I wasn't a happy camper.

Yes, I have created a draft of an MSI flavored version, it has been sitting since I never received any comments on it.

    I might add:
Interviewed, references verified, employer interviewed, etc.

If they are going to do it, we might as well make use of it.

I hadn't seen the card before, but I like it, but for one small change...

I would remove 'Maryland' from the concealed permit holder line. It would then apply to many more of us.

Or maybe, 'concealed permit holder in Maryland'

Is this an opportunity? Raise enough stink to have the sign taken down and possibly a news blurp that MD citizens enlightened local business as to their loss of income ..... well that is where media might put there own spin on it but it might help to bring up some attention to the subject, just needs to be positive. 1500 negative yelp reviews due to the signage.

This is the email correspondence that I've had with them today regarding the issue. Thought some of you may find their reply amusing although it's exactly what I was expecting.

    "Message: Hello,
I am a regular customer of the Just Tires location in Glen Burnie, MD. This
weekend I stopped in to purchase a set of tires for my truck and was
surprised to notice a "no firearms" sign as I entered. I must say that
while I'm happy with the service I've received in the past, your company's
stance on this issue has forced me to take my business elsewhere. I value
my right to defend myself no matter where I am and your policy denies my of
that right. I strongly urge you to speak with management to change this
    policy.

    Regards,
    Tony"

"Thank you for contacting our web site and for voicing your concerns. In an
effort to ensure the safety and security of our associates and customers,
we have had a clear company policy regarding weapons in the workplace,
since 2004. The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. prohibits all persons who
enter Company property from carrying a handgun, firearm, or prohibited
weapon of any kind onto the property regardless of whether the person is
licensed to carry the weapon or not. Exceptions apply to on-duty law
enforcement personnel. This policy applies to all Company employees,
visitors, customers, and contractors on Company property -- including our
Company owned stores. All Company properties have received a decal or sign
referencing this policy, and have been instructed to post it.

    Jennifer - Consumer Relations"

    "Jennifer,

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my correspondence.

That is a ridiculous policy. Statistics prove that crime is lower in areas where citizens are able to arm themselves; the facts don't lie. Concealed weapons carriers are vetted, educated, trained and are among the most responsible patrons to your establishments. I understand that from a PR perspective and considering the political climate that this is a touchy subject, but I refuse to allow your policy to make me a victim. Until your policy changes I will be forced to take my business elsewhere.

    Thanks,
    Tony"

LoL. Im quite the opposite, I give 6% off to anyone who brings a firearm into my shop. Kind of a "thank you for supporting the 2A" thing.
