The amount of metal to leave out of a rim depends on the size of the wheel and rim that is being made. There is a non working tire shrinker at the blacksmith shop at Rough and Tumble Engineers Historic Association in Kinzer PA if you want to see one. The Amish still use steel rims on some vehicles and Whitmer's Coach Shop in New Holland PA still makes and repairs wheels the old fashion way. There is also Nolts Wheel Shop in New Holland, PA.

Old steam locomotive drive wheels had rims installed the same way.

Here's a pic of what it did at 25 yard's I would have liked to shot it at 50 and 100 yard's but the ravine was full of stickers. I need to adjust the front site a little left. but it is shooting pretty close.

I don't even have the patience to finish a puzzle.

You're an absolute artist. You should put this on reddit or some other forum with national/world exposure.

    epps1919,
It was AWESOME running into you yesterday and seeing that amazing piece of machinery firsthand!
I'm just sorry I missed seeing you firing it.

Wonderful to see it come together! What is your process for loading the chambers? You use 209 primers and 50 cal round ball. What kind and how much powder? Did you make a loading tube to pour the powder and push the ball into a chamber? Anything else you do special? How long did it take you to load the 60 chambers?

Does the box on the right hold loaded chambers and the one on the left catch the spent chambers?
