Recently acquired a Saiga 12. On the fence about keeping it. But it may grow on me.

    From top to bottom:

    Molot VEPR RPK-74M clone

    Saiga 5.45 awaiting AK-105 conversion

    Saiga 5.45 AK-74M clone

    Arsenal SLR-104UR

Saiga 7.62, semi-conversion done, full conversion down the pipeline

    Saiga 12

Keep the Saiga 12 gauge I have a Chad special conversion that I think is awesome. Fantastic fun with a drum.

There's no where to shoot it where I live. I'm stuck to only using slugs on a rifle range or birdshot on a patterning range. My aim is to make sure it's dialed in for the occasional buckshot as well.

Id talk to Chad he did mine. Many tin-can armies have been defeated by a rain of birdshot, slugs and 000 buck.

A friend of mine bought a storage unit full of demilled kits at an auction. Here are a few neat ones. About a dozen AKs inside with some other gems. All of the Yugo’s have really cool trench art. Some milled, some stamped, etc. Pretty cool, even if he is the type to just sit on the stuff and not part with any. :(

Now that would be awesome to have the tools and talent to build a few if not all of those kits during this stay at home crap. Looked like FAL parts as well as a few AMDs. That's my kind of storage unit score!

That Bulgarian AK-74 kit is upwards of $800 right now.

Damn! There’s 2 of those. One in GREAT shape, one in pretty good shape minus the bbl which is a little used up. There is a PRISTINE M92 kit in here that he will do as a pistol. It came as an underfolder (chopped too of course)

I don’t have pics of it all, but theres quite a few of those Romanian “dong grip” AKs in there mixed with the Hungarians.

Here’s a teaser of some other chopped stuff. I understand it is the way it is but gosh it makes me sad seeing all this stuff destroyed.

If he needs helping pricing out stuff, let me know I know a bit about AK kits.

In any case I'll probably end up selling the Saiga 12 and buying another one. I would like one with the older style sight and rail.

I really appreciate the offer. I’m sure I’ll have some questions sooner or later.

Here is mine. Question? I want to put wood furniture on this. Do I need new metal hardware to install wood over gas tube and barrel? I dont believe it will be a simple swap?

    There are bolt-on handguard retainers:

    https://www.carolinashooterssupply....d_Guard_Retainer_Bracket_p/css-bracket-ak.htm

Ideally you'd want to press off the gas block and front sight and install the AK 100 series components if you want to clone the AK-101.

It appears this would work for the lower hand guard but I'm not sure about the top? Not sure how this connects to the gas block?

*edit* looks like I need to replace the gas block with a standard AK gas block. This could add up quickly!

No you just need a gas tube. No need to change the gas block or front sight block unless you want to go the clone route.

That RPK 74 is sweet as hell. Is it a Arsenal import or parts kit build?
