Ran into a problem de-priming 308 brass this weekend.

    I am using a Lee Universal De-primer on a Lee C Press.

The 300 or so mixed range pick up & once fired cases that I had de-primed as normal. This group had been sitting on my shelf for a few years.

About a Quarter of the once fired 308 brass from my 2 new rifles (less than 2 years) would not de-prime. Its not lack of force as I have broken 3 pins this weekend.

I thought if I used the full length die it might line everything up better. These cases will not even go all the way.

    What am I missing?

I believe some military primers are crimped in and difficult to remove.

An example of two flash hole Berdan primed vs. one flash hole Boxer primed brass.

Look into your cases with a strong flashlight. Dispose of Berdan primed
    (Two Hole) cases.

Something else to check is diameter of flash hole and diameter of decapping pin. When I started reloading 6.5grendel (Lapua brass) with the Lee set, I bent a pin before I realized the issue. Lapua touch hole was smaller than the decapping pin, so I had to turn down the new pin to fit.

So my .02 is that either some brass is berdan primed or a pin is larger than flash hole.
