  • The Walmart employee only gave you the unclassified intel.... The classified intel is yes 223 (5.56x45) FMJ will be banned by the EPA due to lead. However it will be replaced by the new M855A1 green round!

    You read it here on the internet so it must be true! :lol:

    So I was up shopping at the local Walmart, and the guy sees me lookin at .223 just browsing... tells me "might wanna get what ya can soon, you won't be allowed ot buy .223 after Jan 1....
    ok
    so what is this guy talking about??

    So it wasn't Walmart that said this, but an employee at Walmart.

    Might want to update your thread title.

    Saves me a trip to Wally's, to get my weekly legislative update!!!

    :lol2:

    You should have told him you already knew (as a government employee with top secret clearance), and that the information is supposed to be classified, and he could face 10 years in jail for telling anyone.

    :thumbsup::lol2:

    If people are hearing that at more than one Walmart, maybe the word is out that Walmart will no longer be carrying .223.

    This ^^^ actually does sound like a reasonable explanation.

    Why would you buy it from them to begin with? Cheaper online.

    9mm Federal is much cheaper at Wal Mart than anywhere I've seen online. 100 rounds for $25.00 is hard to beat. Even if you could beat it, I might still buy the Federal since it doesn't foul up my Glock.

    Is .223 much cheaper online than Wal Mart?
