Condition looks great based on the pics. Pinned barrel, no Hillary hole, real craftsmanship in production during this era. Shooting 38 Special, I think it will run for several lifetimes.

S&W M&P Shield 9mm 1.0, picked this up from an MDS member, like it a lot. Would love to find another one, but not from online.

Edit: Bought my second 9mm 1.0 from another member.

    I love that Model 65
Yes, I've always wanted a Model 13, but back in the '80s they (and the 65s) simply weren't available. You might have caught a few reviews in your favorite ad-perpetrated gun magazines (including the AMERICAN RIFLEMAN), but they were about as plentiful as the ark of the covenant, and the closest you could get to buying one were the photos in those reviews!

You could, of course, call your local gun retailer to see if he had any in stock, but after he got off the floor laughing, he might put your name on a list to keep you from calling every six months to see if he had any in stock. I had a Federal Firearms License back then and it did me no good. The only difference is that my distributors were the ones on the floor laughing instead of my local retailer.

The second issue was that the finish on the stainless steel S&W 66/65 revolvers looked as though they had been finished with different grits of sandpaper. The exceptions to this were the 686 and 629. When I asked (complained) about this at a S&W exhibit at an a NRA convention in Philadelphia, the S&W rep said that their number 1 customers were cops, and that the Model 60 .38s (which only cops could get) and 65/66 magnums, and .38 counterparts sold as fast as they could get them out the door. Even my 63 finish was horrible!

    S&W 686

I had a friend who was a Treasury agent, and he was able to get a model 66 6-inch. He got rid of it after he compared it to my Ruger 6-inch stainless Security-Six. I have always wanted a 4-inch Model 66 w/counter-bored chambers and a stamped side plate; not because they were better, but because they seemed better made.

    S&W 317 revolver and 639 auto.

Another gun I coveted was the Model 59, but the 39/59 autos had a horrible reputation. They were termed jam-o-matics. I waited for the Beretta 92 16-rounders and later bought the exceptional stainless 2nd and 3rd generated guns.

I'll have pics in the next couple of weeks, picking up a S&W Model 52-1 from a fellow shooter in the Garrison Bullseye League at AGC.

Shot it once and had to own it, price was right too...

Cold Steel, I'm not sure if all of your guns are beautiful or if you're a gifted photographer (or both). Really nice pictures Sir.
