    Hi,

My son bent up the spring door on his 1976 Marlin 336. I've never taken mine apart to that level. I can break a Glock down to spring cups. Can I replace this door by watching YouTube videos, or will I end with a bucket of parts at the gunsmith?

So real question is this easy to do? I'm pretty mechanically inclined.

    Cheers
    Steve

My pre-safety Glenfield 30A/Marlin 336 is painfully easy to disassemble.

The small screw about one and half inches behind the loading door opening retains the loading door spring.

There are all kinds of YouTubes to walk you through it.

Try tightening that screw and see what happens. If the screw is loose, the door will sag a bit.

    Good luck with it.

Most of the videos can walk you thru the process - it's not that hateful.

I polished up the action on the one that got passed down to me, lot easier to shoot a string from the shoulder now, smoothly.

Thanks. I think we'll do it on a clean kitchen able and take pictures and notes as I go.

Here is child #1 with said 30-30, pre-damaged Spring door.

Just pulled it apart this evening. Very easy. A loose screw was the problem.
