Sorry I don’t have new pictures of my sporterized 1915 Spandau Gewehr 1898. Looks like a reseller company took off 4” on the barrel, turn down bolt (K98k bolt) and post war (WWI) sight. The cut down barrel means I have to set the rear sight to something over 300m. 400m might pull up POI enough. It was shooting about 4” low at 50yds.
But groups at first, but they tightened up. I had it out a month ago and shot some 70yd old Turkish and Yugo ammo through it and managed 5” 100yd 5 shot groups.
Seems like it needed more fouling in the barrel. I’ve scrubbed the hell out of it as it was filthy and has some good putting, but the lands are good. My starting 50yd groups were 3-4 inches at 50yds. Pictures of my 3rd to last 3-shot group (PPU FMJ) and my last group (PPU SP). Ignore the extra hole in the orange target up high. I was reusing an already shot target. The red one is coming across rotates 90 degrees :-(
