BM, I'm by no means a photog, but have seen it recommended to take gun pics on more solid grey (incl concrete, asphalt, or rocky surfaces - with minimal background contrast), dark brown (incl wood surfaces), or even mid to dark green (for blued rifles with wood furniture) backgrounds. You have so many nice guns that in archiving more shots, you might explore options. Avoid the flash (unless one has a diffuser, etc) and, if possible, use natural light. Guessing a lot of yours were nighttime shots, lol.

Yes, I finally got my camera out yesterday evening and took the photos in my basement, so the brown chair was the best I could do and of course, I had to use a flash. I normally do take photos of guns on my deck like you suggested. I'm eventually going to sit down and photograph all of my guns and will use the suggested back drops when I do.
