    I've never owned a Mini 14 but have shot the heck out of friends rifle and never had any noteworthy problems other than aftermarket magazines sucking big time.

    I do own a Mini 30. I had some light primer strikes on some Russian steel case but fixed that with a Wolff extra power hammer spring. The aftermarket magazine problem is particularly bad with the Mini-30 though. Most I have tried are pretty bad with ftf and other problems.

    I saw a Mini in 6.8SPC at the Tackle Box in Lex Park years ago, stainless. I looked at it a few times, thought the price was too much (as usual in that store), finally I decided to buy it anyways. Too late, it was sold. Still regret it to this day. Only 6.8 I ever have seen.
