Quick anecdote. I changed the mag catch spring, stoned/sanded off a couple of burs and the mag release is SO much better now. It was sticky and probably took 12-15lbs if force. Now it is similar to my G17 mag release (dunno, 5lbs, 7lbs? Smooth).

Well somehow in doing it my slide stop spring popped out and at the range yesterday the slide stop feel off. Okay then. Put 3 mags through it without the slide stop...

And then the slide stop dropped out of my range bag and didn’t discover that till I got home. So I booked it back to the range and found it sitting on the concrete pad of the pistol range. Phew.

Got home and found the slide stop spring on my basement floor!!! Awesome! I was scared it got vacuumed up or just disappeared (it is a tiny little wire).

Got it out back together. A pain to get that spring in and still not sure how it managed to pop out.

Anyway, the actual issue. Rounds are popping up and jamming between the slide and the top of the barrel mouth. Not every one, but out of 35 rounds (I forgot my mag loaded and one mag was so stiff I just couldn’t get a 12th round in) I think it happened 3 or 4 times. Around the middle of mags.

Not nose diving or hanging up on the mag or feed ramp, but popping up.

Are the mag springs too stiff? Load the mags and let them sit that way for awhile? I took them apart when I was home and oiled the spring and inside of the body. The springs are super tight. 2 surplus and 1 new manufacture mag. Like without a mag loader I struggled for probably 10 minutes to load the three magazines.

When I first got the gun I had 2-3 rounds jump up out of about 40 rounds down the pipe with that new manufacture mag.

Or something else I might be missing for cause?
