Just yesterday two juveniles and a mail carrier were shot in Southeast D.C.

    They shot the mailman?

There is no such thing as "gun violence."
There is only violence and violence starts from within a person.
To reduce violence the inside of a person must be changed.

What about knife violence? Fist violence? Baseball bat violence? Verbal violence?

Don't know what Gun Violence is?
Pretty hard for an inanimate object to have a conscience...

On one level it would be a good thing to seek to reduce * Violent Crime * generally.. For that matter year round, not just during one season.

On the other, so such thing as Gun Violence per se. Drug trafficking violence, gang violence, violence in conjunction with felonies generally, domestic violence, even totally randon violence. All of those can by done with aid of guns, knives, motor vehicles, random blunt oobjects, hands, feet, misc body parts, etc.
