    Has anyone used an Oryx chassis? I have a Savage 12fv, 6.5 Creedmoor, that I want to mount in one. The 12FV has an internal magazine. The Oryx uses AICS magazines. I need to find out, if I need to buy bottom metal, to convert the 12FV, to external magazine.

    I haven't done the conversion, but I modified my stock on my 12FV to be better. The internal mag is loose fitting in there. You should be able to just buy the new chassis, install your action/barrel, and shoot.

    Also, I'm curious which one you're buying? I didn't see the model 12 on there, just a "Savage SA" and then the Axis actions.

    I have an Oryx for my Tikka 7mm-08 and just ordered the MDT SA AICS magazine. Works just fine.

    Took me a few minutes to post the pic. She now has an Ergo Tactical Deluxe Grip in FDE and replaced the Monstrum scope for a Vortex Strike Eagle 4-24x50. Next mod is to replace the cheek riser set screws with thumb screws.

    The one in the back is a Rem 700 7mm mag in an MDT HS3 chassis.

    This is a Savage 12FV Short Action in the Oryx. It takes MDT polymer AICS mags and all metal AICS mags. Magpul magazines require extensive modifications to work with the Savage (redesign angle of feed lips and locking notch).

    That doesn't look like a 26" barrel to me...did you cut it down, or is it just an optical illusion?
