I'm terrible at aging deer. This one looks like a large body, but small rack. I don't know where to place him. Any guesses?

He's not very "roman", so I'm still thinking on the younger side.

    In my book, to paraphrase:

Capt. Yossarian: He was very old.
Luciana: But he was a boy.
Capt. Yossarian: Well, he'll die. You don't get any older than that.

No idea how old he is.

3-4 with crappy genetics (I'm thinking more 4 than 3 though).

Kindof what I was thinking too, but was hoping the small rack would push him to a 3. Then it would make sense to let him walk until he's 4, but really, I don't think he's going to amount to much more than this.

Big 2.5 or small/medium 3.5. The headgear isn't heavy enough for anything older.

If you live in an area where there's few hunters and cars, might be worth letting him go another year.

No expert here but racks are genetic. With that neck and chest I would put him at a little bit older or at least healthier than most. Take him down so the small rack genetics ;-) don't get passed down. My .02
