Been wanting one for a little while plus wanted the wife to be able to shoot something while i am shooting my AR, so I just picked up a Rem. 597 .22 at BP tonight. Damn impulse buy will get you everytime.

well i am gonna pick up a cheap optic for it tomorrow, just going to teach her how to use it and let her get comfortable with it, then i will sneak a new barral, stock, better optic, and trigger group on her. And I will get some pics up shortly even though its just a stock plain jane rifle right now, but will see if i can get one of the wife holding it lol

I thought you said it was a Ruger 10/22....Rem 597 are nice but i don't know too much about them or aftermarket products.

well crap there isn't much out there for it, oh well, i hear they shoot darn good so i will just put some good optics on it and call it a day. Its the wife's anyways. I will get a ruger 10/22 later on in a couple of months for myself

I had to make that choice too the 579 and 10/22 both shoots great, but the 10/22 has a huge fallowing bec of all the accs you can get for it. But if your wife wants a nice shootin rifle 597 is a fine gun.
