Zenith firearms, ptr-91, or if you're lucky a cetme L parts kit build or a Hill and Mac reproduction.

I'm personally a big fan of the cetme L despite it's flaws.

Edit: Just realized you meant to Maryland.

The PTR-91 is banned... it was sold as a regulated long gun pre-2013.

However, IANAL... but from the conversation in this thread: https://www.mdshooters.com/showthread.php?t=221170, there appears to be a general opinion that the PTR-32 is not banned. Same roller locked action as the HK91/CETME/PTR-91, but chambered in 7.62x39mm, and takes AK mags.

You didn't specify caliber, so I thought this might interest you.

If I am mistaken or misreading this someone please jump in and correct me.

The pistols are still legal, like a FedArm POF or Zenith MKE MP5 pistol. Zenith also imports an HK33 style pistol with a 12" barrel as the Z-43P.

I wonder if the Z-43P rifle would be legal in MD if you got rid of the folding stock or flash hider. The MKEs and POFs have a front pivot pin receiver instead of a semi-auto shelf that the banned HK93 has. The lowers will not interchange.

    A few more options:
    1. Special Weapons SP-10 - these are MP5K-based and easily fixable, and they run pretty good. Definitely your cheapest option.
    2. MP5K-based carbines - law only bans MP5/HK94 rifles and MP5K-based pistols, but not MP5K rifles.
    3. CETME Model L - kit or HMG.
    4. SG 510 / Sig AMT - these are going to cost you a pretty penny, but they're out there.
