    I haven't gotten to shoot mine yet but am wondering how hot this thing is gonna get. the cut outs are also a bit bigger then I thought, I hope my finger doesn't slip though and tough the gas block or barrel LOL

    The heat impulse should peak just behind the gas block, then drop off considerably in the dwell section. Assuming you will grip the fore end out towards the muzzle(the reason most people use long fore ends), you shoudn't have too much trouble with heat...long as you keep your digits out of the holes.
