What based on what is visible precludes these from being K31's?

I only know they’re not K31s because AIM said they weren’t. They said to guess what they were and someone guessed K31 but that was wrong.

The look like 1896/11 conversions. Look at the added handgrip.

I think these are more fun to shoot than K31s. I have a 1911 and love it. Probably going to sell it, my private K31, and a bunch of GP11 off soon.

You guys know that Simpsons gets k11s in all the time for cheaper right? Maybe some of these may be nicer than some of theirs but atleast at Simpson's, you can see what your buying.

yerp. plus you have to call to purchase, and they will pull the specific gun out and answer any questions about it (within reason).

“Okay, now that you are looking at the gun in question, what is the air speed of an unladen swallow?”

I cant believe I never knew about Simpsons. It was literately worth over paying at AIM to find out about it. Have they been around long ? There was a list some I found online years ago and I thought i had been to every C&R sight there was.
