    Picked up two of these at Gettysburg this weekend, hoping to find out some more info.

    First off, I know nothing on M1 Carbines so here we go.

    Looks like receiver castings from Rock Island so some searching online has led me to this:

    At the bottom are pictures that look identical to mine. However, the paragraphs above said they used tooling to cast the recoil spring channel instead of drilling it out.

    Seems like threading for the barrel and a trip to get it hardened is all that is missing?

    You now know what they are. That Commercial M1 site is one of my favorites.

    I saw a couple of these on a gunshow table a while back.
