I'll take this as a GOOD thing. Because it means they're shifting away from the "all you gun nuts are mis-interpreting the 2A" over to "you're right what it means, and we don't like it, so we want it to go away." That's a victory, as far as I'm concerned.

It certainly suggests that they know the "collective right theory" won't succeed on the merits.

At least they are being honest about their intent, not like all the others that say “ I believe in the 2nd Amendment but . . .”

Agreed. They are dropping the subterfuge they have been using to try to mask their true intent. I take it as a good indicator that they are on their heels with their antics no longer working.

It certainly suggests that they know the "collective right theory" won't succeed on the merits.

Or it is just multi-prong, which also usually works well in public affairs/politics. The gun control lobby is swimming in so much money they can just throw anything out there and go with what works. They haven't worried much about being intellectually consistent in the past.

All of them were supporting total handgun bans just eleven years ago yet the media repeats daily "no one is trying to ban basic home defense guns" when the record is clear that is exactly what was being attempted for three decades.

Obama was able to promote, recommend, on the record favor Australia's gun control regime, which was mass confiscation, yet the press would not nail him down on that.

You can not amend the Bill of Rights.

Article 5 only prescribes how to amend the COTUS by adding to the original 10.

The chances of 2A or any BOR nullification through a new amendment is doubtful at best. You probably have better chance at calling for a Constitutional conference of States.

Any repeal of any of the bill of rights is in effect dissolving the union/entire constitution. I’m fine if we want to go that route, let the still American states band together and let the blue states figure out how to import food since middle America will start charging at international costs.

It's all about manipulating the stupid voters. The sponsors know it will go nowhere. Like promising to fix Social Security; it ain't gonna happen.

They are openly working against the very Constitution they swore to uphold (in a more egregious way than most on the Left)
All of those sponsors should be removed from office immediately.

I got a better idear. Revoke Hawaii’s statehood.

    **** em.

They can not survive on their own with their current population and infrastructure to maintain, I say we let them try.

Without even counting the money that would be lost when US military bases pull out and the federal money they receive they are already in the bottom five states in financial health

They also import over 90% of their food and the majority of their power.
