As I've scrolled through the internet I've obviously seen various Finnish captured Russian weapons, but to my knowledge have never seen a Finnish capture m44, m38, and come to think of it never a PU sniper. Yall every seen them?

You won't find a real M44. There are M38 but a lot of them are fakes. Finns wouldn't lower themselves to using a PU Sniper.

Real m44 as in a real captured m44?
Yes. It would be nearly impossible. Would have to have been made in 1943 maybe early 1944. Would have to have enough time between production and making it to the field then would have to be captured by the Finns.

Seen one recently that had SA mark and was dated 1945. That would not be possible unless maybe a German soldier picked it up as a personal trophy right after it was issued, and dropped it on his way out. Then the Finn turned it in.

Or how about a german capture and russian recapture, still looking for a Finn to Russian Capture. Issued to German Luftwaffe troops guarding an air base.

I have what I believe to be a Finnish captured M38 and a Finnish captured M44. Both have been posted in the C&R section of this website. I also own a few Finnish captured sniper rifles, but unfortunately, none of them sport a PU scope.
I DO own half a dozen legitimate Russian PU snipers, though.

ETA - Found a thread with OK pics of both. I’m no camera guy :D

That's the definition of unobtanium. Put that up for sale on GB with good photos and sit back to watch the bloodbath. I would buy a ticket to that spectacle!

You and me both! About twelve years ago, my friends thought I was crazy for bidding a Tikka M30 up to $850. This wasn’t including the buyers premium or shipping. One of Gunboards deep-pocketed members found the auction and outbid me. :sad20:

You’ve amassed a beautiful Finn collection, sir!

I don’t. I will find the thread from Gunboards from when it was first discovered and posted, and PM you the link. The previous owner always took great pics - unlike me :D
