    Enabler. ;)

    But $600! (as you noted)

I'll mull it over for the next couple of hours, and see if it's there when I look again. (thanks)

Its Simpsons. Keep your eyes on GB there have been two or three with correct grips, paperwork etc go for $450ish. Not a huge number come up for sale so you have to look frequently.

I got mine for a lot less but it had bulgy or Russian knock-off grips like the one Simpsons has. Replacements are not hard to find.

Ya they are out there but they are one of those guns that are not rare but starting to disappear into peoples long term collections.

I got mine for $360 a month or two ago but it had the same grips as the one Simpsons had and it was just labeled as Makarov. Sometimes it pays to skim for mislabeled guns, I have gotten a few steals of GB that way.

Appreciate the tip. As much as I want an EG, can't do it when I can get two pristine Bulgarians for the same price.

I would agree with that rational. The East German guns are nice but my first handgun was a Bulgarian Mak (still have it) the fit and finish is actually fairly comparable. East German has better metal clean-up in the "hidden areas" but the overall exterior is about the same. Trigger pull is a little better on the EG but not spectacular.

If you have an HQL Id buy up Bulgarians, sadly Bulgies are not C&R. I got an EG only because I didn't have one and was evading the HQL.

Same EG Makarov I bought a while back, corrected for grip (Had to get the right grip screw from Numrich). Probably have $380 in it total, not bad given todays market.

... and on the opposite end of the spectrum from the Mak ...

    1930's Coston-Sedgley 37 mm flare gun.
These look pretty cool with tri-tone finish (blue barrel, coppery-colored receiver, aluminum grip).
A big honking mutha' and not all that common.
Mfg. in Philly by R.F.Sedgley, which also made the Mark IV (37mm) and Mark V (10 ga - last pic) for the Navy in WW2.

If this is grade B, grade A must be damn near new unfired

You inspired me to go ahead and get another. I got a Grade A that doesn't look any better than your Grade B, but it came with a very nice holster and a second mag, so I feel like I did OK. Of course, I added on a few boxes of ammo, then when I stopped at store to see if they have 9x18 in stock, I left with a commercial Russian Mak. There's just no way to get out of this hobby cheap.
