I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade here, I'm of the opinion that any erosion of our 2A rights is a loss, period, but before you guys go getting all warm and fuzzy about 3D printing your own bump/slide stocks, just keep in mind that any draconian legislation coming down the pike would likely make you an instant Felon for even being in possession of such items, the stocks themselves for sure, but possibly even the software or blueprints, etc. Just a thought.

It looks like Gun Broker has eased their stance on selling bump stocks. They are now allowing them to be sold as long as it's done so legally. So no selling where they are prohibited.

    Dear j_h_smith,

As the public face of internet gun sales, GunBroker.com works closely with the NRA, NSSF, and other industry organizations on matters of public policy. Initial reaction from the industry was that support of bump stocks was PR disaster. However, the industry and NRA have softened their stance and asked regulators and Congress to make a decision as to whether or not these items are legal. As a result we have changed our position to allow the items to be sold as long as they are sold in full compliance with state and local laws.

As a seller you should be aware that bump stocks / slide stocks are not firearms and are almost certainly not protected by the Protection in Lawful Commerce of Arms Act (PLCAA). This means that if you choose to sell these items and get sued over their use or misuse, you will not have the PLCAA to protect you.

Be aware that bump stocks / slide stocks may not be legal in every state and we have not been able to fully assess what jurisdictions in which they may be outlawed. It would be wise to research the local in state laws into which you intend to ship these items to avoid entering into an illegal transaction.

    Thank you,
    The Management of GunBroker.com

Another question, is this what it was like leading up to the 86 ban?

If you remember the buying frenzy leading up to 2013 in MD, you had a taste. The 1986 MG ban and the 1994 AWB were even crazier since it involved the entire country, so true market forces were at work.

To this day you can find still 21-year-old unfired MACs still around from when those that had the means bought a bunch when they were plentiful and cheap.

So when will we see 80% bump fire stocks?

They'll make the use of them illegal.

Regardless of how folks come by them. 100%. 80%. etc.

Not sure how they'll cover possession of them.

People can keep them as remembrances of better days gone by I suppose.

I imagine it'll play out just like most of CA's bans, grandfathered at first, few years down the road - bam, ban on use. Few more years down the road, ban on even ownership - turn 'em in or play that game of chance.

With the GOP and NRA lining up behind Feinstein I'm very interested in what the final legislation will look like. My money is on some devices still being allowed simply because nobody knows enough to ban them specifically and their rate of fire is not too automatic-y. I believe NRA will help the law to be pretty specific. Hope so anyway. GOP can't be trusted with much these days.

I don't have, don't need and don't want a bump stock though I would love to have invested in half a dozen of them. In an SHTF scenario I wouldn't use one. Waste of ammo. The only time we went to uncontrolled fire in the Marines was FPF and, as a civilian, if you need that it's already too late. We called it the kiss-your-a$$-goodbye rate of fire. Only useful if you know for sure you won't need that ammo 2 minutes from now.
