I have 2 MRE’s. I’m not worried about getting caught in an ice age I’m worried about getting stuck at work for 3 days.

I've got a couple granola bars. I'm more worried about getting stuck in traffic with screaming, hungry kids than anything else.

Work has vending machines. I pass a gas station every two miles. Food is relatively easy to come by in a disaster scenario, for the first couple of days.

I had a bunch of random first Aid kits on my shop. I bought a nice pouch and combined them all i to something more user friendly

No so much for “prep” as much as it is fir 7 beers and an angle grinder but can easily be tossed in a pack.

Crazy prices on Amazon. I saw one that had the beef for 24 bucks. Wtf

*****You'll be happy to pay $24 a can if Biden/Harris get the Green New Deal to go through! I think it mandates a cork in every cows ass to keep them from farting so much - a big contributor to green house gases that will purportedly kill us all.

And, yea. The price is crazy, but check out MRE prices and any other emergency food right now.. The prices are going up again, like earlier this year.

Picked up this inverter, a couple of solar panels, and a charge controller. Swapped out some dead batteries for new ones. MM Jr. is using the 10x14 shed as an engine workshop, so we upgraded it to have a modicum of modern amenities like "electricity" and "lights." (It's far enough away from the primary estate buildings that running an electric drop would be unpleasant, and would substantially disturb the wife's topiary garden.)

It's on sale direct from the importer (yeah, made in Chyna ...) for less than it goes on eBay, and for less than the equivalent sells at Harbor Freight ($76 from HQST; $90 from HF). Free shipping to boot. It also includes the remote power switch, so I can put that near the door and turn on the lights without having to climb over/through the engine parts obstacle course my son has created.

Made up and canned Cowboy Candy with the last of the jalapeños from the garden. Made a couple egg plant parms just to use up the last of the egg plants. Not a lot but at least I did something.

How do you eat it normally? I can handle cooked jalapenos but not the fresh pickled ones. I put half shells in the toaster over with cheese and meat, or fried and I am all good. We made some cowboy candy this year also and I'm finding a hard time to get an enjoyable way of eating it.

Eating straight they are hot as crap. I tried one on top Braunschweiger on crackers with cheddar. That I felt 4 hours later rumbling and shooting flames the next morning. Almost ruined my hunt.

I got to have another talk with my wife. She thinks food and we will be fine, she's got two hunters in the house. She has so much toilet paper and paper towels I couldn't get to the window in the family room to open it lighting the stove the other night. I had to open the front door for the updraft for the stove.

What panels are you using/plan to use? I want to tinker with solar and get a better grasp of it.

We have an old Harbor Freight solar kit which included 3x of the craptastic 15W panels and a PWM charge controller. The controller took damage from a nearby lightning hit; the panels weren't great to begin with.

We upgraded to a pair of Grape Solar 100W panels purchased through Home Depot for $73 each with free shipping. Hard to beat that for new panels.

Purchased an EPEVER MPPT charge controller through Amazon. This one handles 20A of charging current, and has the optional remote display which shows voltage and current for input, charge, and load simultaneously.

Went to the local Battery One and exchanged the beaten battery for a nifty new Group 31 deep cycle unit. Bought some 2AWG welding wire and crimp terminals to make the connection to the big 2kW inverter.

This system won't meet the needs of a typical household, but it's reasonably sized for the 10x14 utility shed being used as a teenager's young-man-cave.

Yeah, I was looking at that pic and thinking he should have put that metal shelf 1 foot to the left so there was room to put the next one in the corner beside it.
I don't even bother with shelving the paper towels and tp anymore. This is just one pile in the back room. Lol there is an equivalent amount on the shelves.

I think my last count, I have 255 rolls of TP and 160 or so rolls of paper towels.

Yea, I’ve got about the same in TP but only 30 rolls of Bounty. But their “jumbo” sized! Do have 30 pints of isopropyl alcohol 70% and half a dozen containers of wipes and same with Lysol spray.

Most importantly I got more cans of “overstuffed beef ravioli”!

Over stuffed had been off my radar. Never see those on special in order to buy cases.
Not sure how Spaghetti-Os got in there lol
