How's it going guys. I'm interested in building my 2nd AR and I am looking to base this build after the dissipator style rifle. Now there is a famous photo I'm sure all gun enthusiasts have seen and I was wondering if any AR experts could point out the parts used to put together a rifle that matches the one in this photo. Yeah I know...HBAR nonsense, we'll get to that when I order a barrel.

The three main components to worry about are an A1 style upper and FSB (NOT "F" marked)
A1 pistol grip and CAR stock. Also has CAR handguards (6 hole not 7 holes and no heatshield).

Add in MD compliant stuff and voila.

But, but, the, the one in the picture isn't a dissipator. Not in function nor design.

    Dis is a Dissipator...

The one in the picture isn't a Dissipator. But you knew that already.

Brownells sells A1 uppers. And likely everything else you need. Start there.

BTW I am looking to build the same, except in A2 and "green" (I think it will look cool!). I am a lefty so need the shell deflector. Oh well, not going for "authentic" anyway. I will get mine from Del-Ton, which in my mind anyway, makes fine rifles. No Colt for sure. But still decent.
