Yeah, I read the story this morning and just shook my head. This is one sorry person.

You want to transport a gun? Fine. You want to carry a gun in your car? Fine.
You want to transport a bunch of guns? Fine.

Don't do anything that would get you stopped. Driving at 2 a.m, and driving while intoxicated is just asking for problems.

    Hmm, let's see:

    Guy lives in Bowie.

Guy was speeding on Crain Highway, in Glen Burnie.

What's the title of this thread, again?

Are those charges a disqualifying offense?
In other words, will it make him a prohibited person for federal or MD state purchases/transfers?

The only legal way to have a loaded handgun in your vehicle is if you have a W&C permit and be within your restrictions, if any.

The locking of the case is not relevant. If it’s loaded and you don’t have a permit, you are in trouble

    I wonder if he blew?

Not that I would be, but if it were me in that situation I'd refuse for sure.

Charged with 16 counts of Handgun in Vehicle (CJIS Code:1-0175 Statute Code:CR.4.203) and 3 counts of Loaded Handgun in Vehicle (CJIS Code:1-1454 Statute Code:CR.4.203. (a)(1)(v))

    plus all the traffic charges.
