I have had my cmmg mk9 for over 5 years now. No complaints, more than a few compliments and plenty of ??? from those who live under a rock.

And now to apologize in advance for what I am about to ask.

In keeping with the OAL 29" rule, while still going as short as legally possible.

Three different local FFL's have said three different answers as to how the 29" rule is defined. One with stock extended, the other fully collapsed, the third did not know so lets assume fully collapsed. (kinda how I think it would be)

Is there a clarified 'official' answer to this ? No opinion but actual fact with some backing ?

Following the CYA route I could go to a 14.5" barrel and maintain 29" fully collapsed. Not sure its worth the $200 permission slip to lose 1.5", I'd rather put the $ towards buying another mk9 and redoing a few things to my liking and have a second gun strictly for running with the Omega 9k I am looking at buying.

And to say it up front, I have no interest in doing a pistol build. I want a real shoulder stock ;)
