I have just begun my search for a 91/30. I know i seriously missed the boat and the days of the ~$100 mosin have passed, but everywhere google takes me is either out of stock completely or wants ~$300 for one... anyone have a hidden gem surplus site, or even better have one they may want to let go of for a reasonable price? I've searched for a few evenings now and have come up almost empty. Thanks

Edit: I do have my C&R, also I'm not looking for a safe queen, looking for a regular shooter.

Try South Carroll Sporting Goods. I know Brian usually has a few for decent prices. SOG might have some for around $250 if I remember right, but for the extra 3% or so they add for using a credit card plus shipping, I'd just ask Brian first.

M91/30s have been plentiful and inexpensive for so long. You knew it was gonna end eventually. Haven't watched this part of the market for a while. I do see them sell cheap in live auctions from time to time but that's getting to be atypical.

I'd like to have another one to Bubba up with one of those ArcAngel stocks and cut the barrel down but I don't want to use one of my nice ones. I'd like to find one with a broken stock for this project that was selling for a cheap price. Seems like prices have doubled in the last few years.

Wow. Too bad I only have one! Should have bought 20 a few years back.

I like the carbine version (M44 or the Finnish M39) better. This is my M44. Not a tack driver but fun to shoot. Get stripper clips if you buy one.

If you haven't done so, post in the wanted to buy section. I will tell someone on here that has been inactive for a while to look. Not sure if he is selling but, we went to keepshooting years ago when they were selling them 5 for $300 or something. Got to pick them out of the crates ourselves. That was fun! We made two trips, lol!

What's a good price for a 91/30 OP? I have a really nice Tula round receiver just sitting in my closet that I'd be willing to part with. I can post some pics later.
