This is a direct result of the Supreme Court refusing to hear the San Fran case, IMO.

Exactly. But the article also didn't mention the firearms could be carried in the home either. Would they be stupid enough to try that?

If it is like the SF ordinance, the gun must be on one's person or locked up, period. Shower holster, anyone? Pajama Holster?

The measure, Council File 14-1553, goes further than current state gun safety requirements in mandating all handguns be stored in a locked container or disabled with a trigger lock that has been approved by the California Department of Justice. Those found in violation could face six months in jail as well as a fine of up to $1,000.

Idiots... Like no one ever searches youtube. This law will be as effective as these locks.

I'm going to be playing with paperclips tonight.

I have a lock pick set at home but I have made MANY impromptu sets from paper clips at work. Employees lock their keys inside their lockers, tool boxes, etc. With a little practice, it takes longer to make the picks than it takes to open the lock.

Or you could just buy a set of these picks that are on sale at Keep Shooting for $4.95... http://www.keepshooting.com/lock-pick-set-8-piece.html
