So I was given a box of these lights and thought it would be neat to hang them in my office. Unfortunately my office is in DC. Your thoughts on the legality of bringing these into DC?

It is sad that I even have to ask..

****Illegal, at least according to how I understand the law as it has been written assuming those are real shotgun shells..

I have a really nice wreath made from shotgun shells I bought at a craft fair in Frederick and no way I would hang that in DC. I live in MoCo and it is kind of funny the reactions I get from people who know what it is.. I also bought a few really cool flags made from red, white, and blue shells to look like an American flag.. It's mounted on a wood back and I gave several of them away for X-mas to my range friends.

    D.C. sucks.

Get some cojones, put 'em up. Real high and visible. Call their bluff. You'll be in the Wash. Times the next morning.

If you can take a high capacity magazine on TV in DC, why not these lights? Oh, you're not famous or on TV or politically backed by a bunch of rich folks? Well then... no lights for you!

they reamed a guy recently for having empty 'unregistered' shell casings, and made an example of him, and he was an attorney with no priors.

I would not chance it by any means.

Certainly pits the reuse crowd against the anti crowd. Would make for an interesting debate... Call David Gregory for cover.

It sounds like since I am just a simple peasant I would probably be made an example of, if caught. A shame.

I should advise Tractor Supply that when they ship these to DC residents they need to go through an FFL.
