Can anyone recommend an atv service shop or mechanic in the area? I have a leak on my rear differential and possibly a bent rear axle, but I am hesitant to take it to one of the big name places as money is tight. Bike is a 99 kawasaki klf300 4x4.

Tough one. I have rarely heard a good story of service or pricing. There might be one in Thurmont ?? I had them do some engine work on my Honda 450R after 20 hrs break-in, got too fast (for me)and I sold it.
Many people have attempted this themselves though, check youtube you may be surprised at how easy some things can be. On ebay right side axle $50 shipped, just FYI
    Good Luck.
