God I hate the gun laws in this state, I need to go home to VA. I've read the threads and am hopelessly confused. I want an SBR PPS-43, which route is best:

    1) Buy a PPS-43 pistol, do a Fm 1 to SBR it. If I go this route does the stock have to be pined open to met the MD length issue (25" stock folded and 35" stock extended)?

    2) Buy one that has already been SBRed out of state and transferred in?

    3) Accept that I'm screwed and should just stick with the pistol or forget about it?

    Any sage advice is appreciated..........

Stock does not need to be pinned. OAL is measured w/ stock unfolded.

Form 1 has your name/trust stamped on it. Buying one already done has someone elses (or shop) info stamped on it. And if from an individual out of state you will have to pay for 2 stamps :( which will pretty much kill any deal you get.

FWIW, I have one SBRed on a form 1 (not for sale.)

    Definitely not where you are!
Ditto... I had a dealer SBR mine. It meets all of the OAL and copycat test, if it even applies, and it's not considered an ALG. If you're doing a trust I would start on it ASAP, as the NFA trust law might change in June. I know I've stepped up my NFA purchases, as well as some others here.
