    This thread is killing me!

Makes me wish I was in to Glocks just so I'd feel better about doing one. As it is, I think it might be time to finally look in to an 80% P320.

The poly80 grip angle is very un-glock, I guess do to the undercut trigger guard. Although the grip is still square.

what is the best price you can expect to see on a 19 slide if it was a great sale? I have a brownells slide in my cart right now, 146 after coupon and comes with a $20 gift card I can use on the lower parts so effective cost is $126. I'm hesitating on buying it because I only just started looking. I don't want to spend a lot, going to try to pick up parts over a couple months as cheaply as possible.

That's not bad. Is it a Glock slide? or a Brownells? You can check Ebay real quick.

Brownells slide. All the Glock OEM ones I've seen are way more than that. Cheapest aftermarkets on ebay look like 170-180 for the most part. I just don't know if the midway/brownells sales ever go lower on them.

I want in on this, so what is the best route to take here? Buy a “complete kit” starting around $470ish or buy the frame and jig for around $120-$150 and collect everything else on my own from there? I want something decent that won’t break the bank and I am not one for name brands or super accuracy. I would like to have two or three eventually, maybe start with a Glock 17 size and then get a compact or sub compact, and then maybe a .45.

Ive gone both ways on this and enjoyed buying all the parts separately. Dont think it was any cheaper but more enjoyable for me. And probably a better peice.

If you ride sales and aren't pressed to finish them quickly. Piecemeal can save you some money. A stock Glock complete slide is a good start. All glock LPK is also a good idea. The trigger is a good place to spend a small amount for aftermarket. But, beware. You can quickly build an expensive ass pistol. That's what I did.

I just ordered the first part for a G26 build. CombatArmory.com has match grade barrels with fully supported chamber for $42.49 shipped when you use discount code "take15".

    http://www.combatarmory.com/combat-armory-barrel-fits-glock-26-new-9mm-match-grade-barrel/

The savings on the barrel will allow me to upgrade the sights on this build and stay within my planned budget which was based on recent sale prices. I am in no hurry to complete this one, so I can maximize my efforts to save on the required parts.

Anyone used those barrels before? Are they any good?

I read some good reviews on their G17 and G19 barrels. Seems they wear the finish at the contact points a little but perform well. For the price, I decided it was worth a try.

Thanks, this is meant to be a fun project so this is helpful. Some quick math on picking my own parts I’m coming in around $600, including sights.

Good info, thanks. I’m with you on the Glock LPK, will need to do more research on the Glock complete slide. It seems expensive compared to other brands.

With a complete glock slide, you are getting at finished slide. No need to buy tools or worry about goofy aftermarket oddities. Shop and be patient.
