Argh! Typo in other title, pls disregard!!

Quick question to remind myself to ask more - what parts are different between these two pistols? I’m looking at building one in .40 because why not, and trying to list exactly which parts I can get from the usual G19 parts bargains.

Staring with a PF940C frame, so that’s one thing in common...

Is the whole slide different, or just the extractor?

It also looks like the trigger assemblies are not interchangeable.

The whole slide is different due to the barrel diameter, breech face width, and recoiling mass.

Recoil springs are the same between the two calibers in Gen 3.

The ejector blade is the only thing in the trigger housing that's different. The other parts are the same. Ejector blades aren't sold separately though, so you probably need to buy a different trigger housing. I stuck a Gen 4 ejector blade into my Gen 3 housing, so I do have a 9mm Gen 3 ejector blade lying around.

Edit: I forgot the firing pins are different for the different slides too. You need #49 for 9mm and #4270 for .40.

I'm in the middle of building a P80 G32 and finding aftermarket 40/357 slides is pretty tough.

I've built a few of each, 9mm and 40. The 9mm frame can be used as is without changing anything. This has been confirmed by many others across multiple forums and I've done the same. Just build your G19 then add a 40 S & W complete slide/barrel. Purists advise changing out the ejector on the 9mm frame because the 40s is slightly different but it will function fine with the 9mm ejector.
