    ok - if I look in my Colt Blue Book; I think you have a Sporter II, model R6500, pre-ban. In terms of percent of original condition: 98% $1650, 95% $1475, 90% $1300, 80% $1175, 70% $1075

Not sure about MD legal but $1200 to $1300 is probably fair, maybe more depending on condition.

Your picture in post #9 shows the barrel markings. To my knowledge, the markings are always on the top of the barrel. If they are, it sure looks like the A2 flash hider has its ports facing down with the solid part facing up. The flat a wrench fits on looks to be slightly rounded too at its edge, like someone was really torqueing on it. Can you post a better picture of the muzzle?

Given the screwed with flash hider, you might want to strip this rifle down and do a thorough check of everything. If someone can't get something as simple as a flash hider right, there could be other things going on. I'm not trying to cause problems for you but these old Colts can be minefields unless you know EXACTLY what you ae looking at/for. It could be that everything else is fine and the FH just needs to be corrected. But, to me, seeing something so simple so wrong and mauled raises red flags.

Also, it should be clear by now that this rifle in current configuration is not legal for sale in Md. If you take the handguards off, you will find that it has a Govt. profile (A1) barrel.
