I am currently looking for a hunter safety instructor to finish my requirements to obtain a MD hunting license. Due to my work schedule I took the online course and passed but nobody in my area has been willing to work with me on getting my safety card. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

You should not procastinate until the last second.

There are plenty of Field days through out the year for you to complete your certification.

On a Field day you will provide your voucher, and a photo id.

You must pass: another written test, field walk, and livefire

It is not as simple as you may think, there are lots of documentation generated.

Just an FYI to others out there contemplating Hunter's Safety classes ...maybe even for next year: Classes fill up quick...especially the Fall Classes. Traditional classes are often full 1 to 2 months in advance and the one day Field Day events to complete the online training are sometimes filled even longer than 2 months (not every Hunter's Safety program offers the Field Day practical, so those that do fill very quickly).

This is a link to a thread describing the 100% online ($18?) Texas Hunter Safety course that DOES NOT require a field day. The certificate you get at the end IS ACCEPTABLE for use for a Maryland hunting license.

Confirmed. I did this today and I'm holding in my hand a MD hunters license

Man I wish I knew about the Texas option. Ended up taking the classroom course twice because I couldnt make the field day on the first 4-day class. This, after I took the online just to see what it was like.
