So a buddy of mine and I would like to give throwing knives a whirl (pun intended). Any recommendations on a decent set of knives to start with? Are certain length knives easier to learn with than other? Thank in advance for the help!

do not go cheap.... also read descriptions. there are some "kits" if you will to start with. i used to throw as a hobby, never really good, but always wanted to get back to it.

i found a website all about techniques and simple advise years ago, i'm sure there are plenty more still.

I had one of the Cold Steel throwers . It wasnt bad , it now resides in Iraq with my nieghbors son . The pics he sent of them taping cheap butterfly knife handles together to throw just werent right so I sent it to him .You can start out with one of those if you like it go higher end later.

I thought guns were invented to put an end to this.

Just kidding. Throwing is a ton of fun. having said that, I suck at it, but it is still fun. Know that your knife will ricochet and break shit, miss the target and break shit, go into the weeds and get lost, ricochet of the top of the target, again off the top of the garage roof and put a good scrape on your truck. It will do thing you didn't expect, like come straight back at you too. I did mention I suck at this, right?

Seriously thought, after many, many hours of practice, you can get pretty good at the distance and timing and making it stick. Then get really good and try an axe - noting like throwing an axe. :party29:
