    No need for LEO involvement.

Should have just left the fella about his business and call the corner for cleanup.

Now, if he didn't go through with it, then then LEOs get to do what they must.

33 shots from AR15s and only hit 4-5 times. Yikes. Not to mention hes still alive.

The police should have been using .22LR. Everyone knows, .22's bounce around inside you and cause more damage than other calibers that way. It's why more people die from .22's than anything else. I know this, cuz I saw it on a YouTube video. On tha internets.

    Sgt Preston here...

    33 shots with 4 - 5 hits..?

Maybe the officers need some more gun range time...

And how about re-qualifying once a year...

I'm not sure I'd want these guys to be on my squad with my life on the line...

If the guy was using cover (this was in a parking lot, right?) 4 or 5 hits out of 33 isn't bad... A lot of those shots were probably suppressive fire. I won't try and second-guess the hit % of someone who had a bad guy actively shooting at them.

    Why not?

Bad guy got hurt good guys go home.

Stand by my side any day in a fire fight.

Bottom line....rather or not the results are idea....they DID get the job done. Their job is to go home.

Also without the details...there is a lot of assuming here. If the guy got behind cover or into a vehicle the hit ratio isnt that far off.

You are absolutely right, the job did get done...However...

My USMC background trained us to make 1 shot / 1 kill...

You had to stay still & take the incoming fire & make the shot...

Given the current political atmosphere, I don't think 33 shots reads well in most of the Socialists News Papers in MerryLand...

And Trial Lawyers & Grand Juries are lining up to depose the the LEO's involved...

It only doesn't read well because people don't know math or firearms. 33 rounds divided by 2 officers means 16-17 rds each. With an AR-15 they most likely had 30rd mags, so they only used about a half mag. That tells you they weren't spraying ammo wildly. I'd say being able to end a gunfight and only needing half a mag isn't bad at all. It could have been better, but everyone went home safe and that's whats important.

There is NO excuse for that many misses by LEOs.

Suppressive fire? I seriously hope no one is advocating the use of that in a situation like this. Rounds can travel in unexpected ways.

I'm glad the LEOs are safe and made it home. BUT that is not their job. Public safety comes before officer safety.

The end result does not justify the means.

And screw the ass that caused the situation. He should jump off a cliff.

I can't/won't judge the actions of two officers who were in a parking lot at night with an armed and suicidal man. I wasn't there and his weapon wasn't pointed at me.
