I say Judge Jeanine Pirro. She'll give Ginsburg a stroke on day one and open up another slot.

I'd love to see him pick a 40 year old. They'd be in for a long time.

The best Scalia replacement would be a qualified conservative judge who is a gun owner. I don't know if any of the current SCOTUS justices are gun owners, but I suspect that at least four of them are definitely not gun owners. I seem to recall that Scalia tried to expose his fellow justices to firearms.

It's one thing to understand the Second Amendment's history and reason for existence. Those are academic perspectives, and are certainly necessary. But a judge can't fully appreciate the Second Amendment without hands-on, practical experience with firearms.

Keep in mind that the vast majority of firearms laws we don't like were passed by legislators who knew nothing about firearms. And, I suspect, when those laws were challenged, they were allowed to stand by judges who knew nothing about firearms.
