I think every collection should have at least one Ruger MK _?_ in it, and the newer ones certainly are optics ready. Were it not for your interest in optics, I would reccomend the Ruger SR22 for the wife and daughter to start out with. My wife has one (though it's not where she started). What's nice as a starter is that it has the same feel and controls as a centerfire DA/SA pistol (to me, the MK series feels more like a target pistol). Also, the SR22 fits her little hands perfectly, but my fat fingers can also handle it just fine.

There are soooo many options out there...but remember that your "first" doesn't have to be your "only" :D

GSG Firefly... At last glance, Tyler's had a few in the case... it's the Sig Mosquito re-branded by GSG... @$300 give or take a few and available with a threaded barrel.

"The FireFly from German Sport Guns and American Tactical Imports is a rebranding of the popular SIG Sauer Mosquito with the same high quality and advanced ergonomics. The GSG Firefly is essentially a scaled down tactical pistol that fires inexpensive .22 LR rounds..."

I just wish that this exact gun was available in 9mm...

You could not give me anything related to a SIG Mosquito. It was absolutely the biggest POS I ever owned. Now the Colt/Walther/Umarex 1911-22 that I replaced it with has been a dream. It will shoot any ammo you put in it.

If it's the same as a Sig Mosquito, DON'T EVER BUY ONE.

GSG 1911 once you get them all cleaned up they run decent or make for a good door stop.

just bought the mark IV lite 22lr. Cant wait to shoot it. That easy take down was the main reason I purchased it. And that mofo looks sooooo kool.
