Cool. Might have to revisit frog lube as a protectant. Didn't like it as a cleaner, but did ok in some applications as a lube.

I have been using Gunzilla, which didn't fair to well in the test. May have to switch to Froglube or Hornady One Shot.

For those of you that have used Froglube and Hornady w/Glide Plus. which one of these two has the lesser smell? Which one has the most pleasant smell? Don't want the house smelling of gun cleaner/lubricant. Thanks!

Note: I was planning on using WD-40 Specialist, but it has a strong smell, which I want to avoid.

Some of the data contradicts other similar tests done on other sites. Other than that it at least seems legit on the surface.

I dont think it shows a bias in the test. I think product makeup changes often to stay competitive and maximize profits.

I have seen it myself where products dont perform like older bottles or cans do.

I use Froglube. Smells minty. I was brought up using Hoppes 9 but wanted something that wouldn't run my wife outta the house when using it. I sit at my kitchen table and use this with out issue. Converted my father to it as well.

If you have used a petroleum based product in the past you'll want to remove that from the firearm BEFORE using the Froglube. I've heard that missing Froglube with petroleum based products can cause fouling.

Last time I was at Bollinger's in Taneytown they had some of the Froglube solvent in small spray bottles.

I have heard mixed reviews on Froglube, but almost all good on the Hornady One Shot. I am thinking of buying a can to test out. I like the claim it leaves a dry, protective film.

Update. I was using Gunzilla prior to this. I have switched to Hornady One Sot, and I really love it. I was testing it on my gas operated shotgun for clays, and it cleaned extremely well using the standard One Shot cleaner/lube, then lubed it with the thicker spray. I am going to use regular Mobil 1 in my Colt AR, and Hornady exclusively in my Bear Creek Arsenal just to see if there is a difference. Expensive, but the Hornady cleans extremely well, and the thicker stuff keeps my Tristar Viper chugging along after a few hundred rounds. No malfunctions so far.

My only complaint is the cost. Comes out of the can pretty fast and is expensive to begin with. Other than that, nothing negative.

It cost so little to maintain your firearms compered to replacing them due to neglect, much like life you only get out what you put in.

I never plan on go to the range if I don't also plan on time to clean the firearms I shoot, once every other month I take a couple hours and re-lube wipe all my firearms with mobile1 on a rag Now I'm retired and move to the Fl I will start doing it every month. I've got the time.
