A federal judge ordered the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to release statistics from its Firearms Tracing System database on guns recovered by law enforcement after they were used in suicides or attempted suicides. The ATF acknowledged the records search sought by Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund would take only two hours.

I bet there are no 30 round magazines, silencers, machine guns or 50BMG rifles on that list. I wonder if they’ll issue a press release about that?

This is the camel's nose under the tent.

Tiahrt Amendment. It prohibits the ATF from using any federal funding to disclose trace data

If Every town can get the Tiarht amendment essentially nullified, they are free to get whatever data they want from the BATFE.

Tiarht amendment just bans releasing the data from the gun trace database. To the best of my knowledge it wouldn’t prevent anonymized statistics from being released. Judge I guess is ruling anonymized statistics isn’t banned, just the raw data itself.

So the ATF could say X number of handguns, Y number of rifles and Z number of shotguns were recovered from suicides broken out by these states. It couldn’t say these are the names of the people who committed suicide and what guns were recovered and where they were recovered.

Typically, Everytown/MDA + Judge = DimocRAT favorable gun grabbing skulduggery.

I see no difference here. Toe under tent commences...
