My girlfriend got me some old funky looking bookends for christmas. The problem is that the bulk of them is old wood, and hence not very heavy.

I was thinking of getting brass bases made to make them heavier. Anybody have a mill in their garage who would do some quick machining? Or a shop that does small jobs?

    I'm basically looking for 2x 4 3/4"x 3 1/4" x 1/4" with the edges slightly beveled or rounded.

Looks like we're talking ~$50 in material from McMaster.

    I'm near Bel Air.
