Delta Peach Bottom range has their first steel shoot of the season next Sunday. My son and I are going to give it a try. Never did anything like this before, but it sound pretty relaxed and a like lot of fun. Any other MDS members attending?

Its a blast (no pun intended) Gary does a good job running it. His son is inpressive to watch as well. Just remember to change out your mags when you can, not when you have to!!!

I'll be there  Been looking forward to these starting back up! If anyone is on the fence, get off of it and get your butt out and shoot. This is a very laidback match and all are welcome.

There are 5 steel plates per round and you do 5 rounds, or 25 per station.

Someone can load mags when you empty one.

Edit: If I make it out next Sunday I'll only charge you a sawbuck per mag :D

Heck, that's cheaper than what I'm doing. I'm taking my 17 yr old son. I'll be paying for his fee, ammo and I'm sure he'll wrangle lunch out of me too. :) He BETTER load my mags!

For anyone who was wondering what the stages MAY look like... This PDF from the Steel Challenge has all of the possible options. Gary doesn't use them all but he normally choses out of the official options.

This is the stage called "Five to Go" shot at Delta last year.

    Do you need mag holders?

Can you collect your brass for reloading?

to first question ---no if you want you can tuck the mags in your belt-not the best way but it works.

to the second--- after the match you can pick up brass or use a revolver like I've done a time or two, just don't miss --times really go up when reloading.
