ok, 2017 is at a close
I know there are some (or at least 1) of you that have purchased a C&R and it has not come in yet, there are others who have purchased C&R during 2017 and have had the chance to look the acquisition over and try them out.
    What did you get?
    What are your favorites?
Anything you got rid of cause you were not fond of, was a duplicate it or simply needed funds?
What are you in search of in 2018?

I'm looking for a correct Mosin 91/30 PU sniper and a Remington M1917 Enfield. For handguns, a .45 ACP Smith and Wesson revolver and a CMP 1911.

I only bought 1 C&R last year, a Remington 513T with a Unertl and I'm probably going to sell it along with 20 or so other rifles and shotguns this year.

I had to go back and look at my book for this year. I think I picked up some good stuff
    Here are the highlights:

    Colt 1903
Springfield Trapdoor (Antique actually not C&R)
Nazi Marked P38 (not a Russian Refurb)
    Russian SKS
Colombian Police force marked Colt Police Positive
    Winchester U.S. Model of 1917

I sold some Mosins and a Chinese SKS

On my search list for 2018
French WWII pistol (this may not be so easy)
    Italian WWII pistol
Maybe sell my current Nambu and get one in better condition

I picked up another SKS from SOG and this one had a decent stock.

For 2018, I am looking for a P08 and maybe a Walther PP.

    I bought three. A S&W 10, a S&W pre 37, and an Arisaka T99

A modest year compared to back when the surplus vendors were stocked with and endless supply of C&R.

    I bought several Nunyas.

When the Nunyas increase in value, they will be sold to other C&R holders.

So I can buy more Nunyas.

I got rid of my FFL license. Since I sold my Garand collection and will no longer be buying any more Garands, I don't need the license. Goodbye cruel C&R world......

Not a prolific year for C&R for me.

Picked up a Savage 720, Savage 1907, Baker Batavia Leader, and a LeFever Nitro Special. The Stoeger SxS I picked up from a fellow member probably qualifies as well, but I'd have to check the SN. Only used my C&R for the 1907 and the LeFever. Everything else was in-state long-gun ftf xfer or 4473.

Sadly, all of them were lost in a tragic boating accident.

Didn't dispose of anything from the BB this year that I can recall without digging it out of the file cabinet.

2018 hopefully (finally) holds a Garand for me. Not particular about the maker or anything, just want one to shoot, not so much a collector's item or safe queen. Will likely go "luck of the draw" with CMP before the month is out. Others on the list that I'll likely actively pursue are a Remington Model 8 or 81 and Frommer Stop or Baby Stop.

My first year collecting C&R weapons but I was able to acquire a beautiful P-64, a Star B that was made the same year as me and a Russian Mosin-Nagant M-44 in excellent condition. I spent too much on builds and ammo or I would have gotten a few more items!

I have learned quite a bit in the past year, and I am looking forward to a great 2018.

I spent some time working on some nice projects for a friend, too. Right now I have a Rasheed that I am cleaning up for him. One of only 8,000 ever made.

I used my license for the first time at Chantilly to pick up a nice CZ52. And I will mourn the c&r that is no longer with me.
    - Winchester M1garand
    - no. 5 Enfield jungle carbine

Hmm my C&R hoard increased in size drastically this year. Whole mess of Mosins of various flavors. Wish I had picked up a C&R wheel gun of some type - I really do prefer shooting revolvers to automatics. I'm not so good a shot with my .45s but I love them nonetheless.

Sold one gun to my Dad but all it did was move from one safe to another so that hardly counts :D Honestly I didn't buy anything which I really want to get rid of; some I like less than when I bought them but such is gun collecting.

This coming year I'm not really sure what my approach will be. I want a SxS of some type but those are more of an "I'll love it when I see it" kind of gun for me.
